It has been a little while since I last posted on here but after today's fashion shoot I thought id post a few images I assisted on. I voulenteered to assist the make up artist on this shoot. It was a collaboration shoot between a fashion promotion student at the college next door to me called uca, and a make-up artist/art and design student from my college. The project theme was feminism and I think the shoot went very well. Assisting on the makeup really inspired me and made me realise even more that this is what I want to do as a career.

Two new make-up experiments
Today I had a go at the Chanel Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week SS14 look (using my friend as a model) I thought it was such a simplistic yet elegant look with a very dewy glow to it
I also wanted to try something which dated a bit further back in time. The typical 1960's twiggy/Bambi eye. I used false lashes and a lot of eye liner and shadow. I did attempt drawing the Bambi lashes on the bottom, but being as it was my first time trying this they were pretty rubbish! So I thought id wipe them off and just stick with some clumpy mascara for this photo, which did work okay, but I will have to practice.

Dramatic eyeliner look
Today I tried out a couple of make-up looks using my friend as model. I decided to go for the dramatic eye liner look using the 24 hour extreme eye liner by collection 2000.

London trip
This Tuesday just gone, I went away for a day/night in London with my mum. We mainly visited museums and exhibitions but also did a few touristy things too. It was a really nice couple of days and here's a few photos of what I saw.
The glastress exhibition in Oxford circus, London college of fashions fashion space gallery.
It was quite a small exhibition but still very fascinating. After this we went to a restaurant called "Bills" for breakfast and I got this banana and berry smoothie. It was really inspiring being in London and just made me want to be living there already.

New make-up purchases
I recently ordered a few more bits to help me when it comes to my portfolio work.
This here is the 'elf' eye primer so far from what I've used it's pretty good, for only £2.99 I will definitely be buying more. This is in the colour sheer
This is the 'sleek' idivine palette in 'au natural'. The colours are very well pigmented and these neutral shades remind me a lot of the naked 2 palette, they do also appear to stay on for a decent amount of time. This was £7.99
This is the 'elf' complete coverage and conceal kit in the shade 'light'. This is now a favourite product of mine due to the fact it's not so rich that it ends up cakey, but not so sheer that you don't have enough coverage. It's just right, also the variety of colours include pink tones and yellow tones so as your skin changes colour through out the year, you can still continue using this kit. This was £5.95
Lastly here I've got the 'real techniques' core collection face kit. I was in serious need of obtaining some decent brushes and for £22.00 for all 4 including the case/stand I was pretty happy. My favourite brush at the moment is the contour. The kit also includes a buffing brush, a foundation brush and a concealer brush but I find that they all have multiple uses in some way
